New York Presbyterian Hospital Heart Health Free Goalie Clinic

FREE goaltending clinic on Wednesday, July 19 from 7-815 PM at the Ice Vault in Wayne, NJ with Coach George Bosak and Coach Jim Margatich!!

New York Presbyterian Hospital

Thanks to Andrea Procaccino and Carolyn Halik of New York Presbyterian Hospital and Bobby and Mariann Reiss, owners of the Ice Vault, I am happy to announce that I will be hosting a FREE goaltending clinic on Wednesday, July 19 from 7 - 8:15 pm at the Ice Vault in Wayne, NJ. There is only one catch: Moms of the goaltenders (or aunts, grandmoms, sisters, etc) must speak with the great team of representatives, headed by Andrea Procaccino, from New York Presbyterian Hospital about Women's Heart Health, what you should be aware of, and facts you should know at your check up. Initially, we had planned to have heart screenings, but the short notice made it impossible to coordinate. I had the option of rescheduling this event. I find this, personally, too important of an issue to move to a later date.

Moms, I lost my mom in February of 2013 to Systolic Heart Failure. The knowledge I now possess would have been much more useful in 2011 or 2012. I was married to my amazing wife, Kati, last year and unfortunately my mom was not there. I want each of the goalies that I coach, and eventually all sons and daughters knowing that heart disease will not be the cause of their mom not being there. My mom was exactly like many of you that I encounter on a daily basis: you do everything to see your child happy and you would go to the moon and back for them. You make sure they have everything they need, most of all love, to make their way in life. You need to be around to make sure that happens. Please make it a point to come to the event. I promise your sons and daughters will get a great workout and you will get much needed guidance on an area that too often is overlooked in women, even though heart disease is the number cause of death among women. I am requesting email RSVP's for this event, as I want to ensure that there are plenty of participants and their families to speak with the representatives from New York Presbyterian.

Please email me at futproma@gmail.com for more details and to confirm registration. A few of the great goaltending coaches in the area have also volunteered for this cause: Terry Jarkowsky of USA Hockey, Ryan DeCeuster of the Jersey Shore Whalers, and Kevin Dluhy, a Atlantic District product who was a 2 time participant at the Warren Strelow National Goaltending Camp. Thank you and let's make a difference!
