 Director's Junior Team

The Director’s team is designed to teach skating skills at a fast pace in a group training environment. Held during freestyle sessions, the program introduces the skater to the world of figure skating! This year’s Director’s Junior Team On-Ice training program is for Basic 4 through preliminary level skaters. Skaters will be divided into circuit groups based on their test level, and also by the skills they are able to perform. We recommend this program along with private lessons with your coach.

  • Continued instruction on the LTS Basic Skills curriculum
  • Jumps and spins

 Off Ice Training

Off-Ice Training is a class specifically designed for figure skaters. Our classes help
to develop muscle strength, balance, and flexibility. Figure skating uses the entire
body. Jumps and spins that are taught on ice, will be worked on during off-ice
class, giving skaters a comfort level while challenging them. Working on jumps
and spins off-ice results in a faster transition to the ice than on-ice training alone.

Winter Session:

  • Tuesdays March 14th - May 9th- 5:45 pm to 6:15 pm
  • Saturdays February 18th - April 15th - 7:30 am to 8:00 am
    • Click here for flyer and application for Saturdays.

Cost:

  • $176 - 8 week program, meeting 1 day per week
    (minimum 3 skaters per class)
  • Coach instruction and room fee included.

Bring to Class:

  • supportive sneakers
  • a mat or towel
  • jump rope
  • water bottle

  North Jersey Figure Skating Club

North Jersey Figure Skating Clubhttp://www.northjerseyfsc.org

The North Jersey Figure Skating Club became fully chartered within the United States Figure Skating Association in 1959 and in 2004, we proudly partnered with  Ice Vault Arena.  North Jersey conducts monthly USFS test sessions and a number of other events throughout the year. Current and past club members have become Olympic, World, and National medalists, participants and/or team members.

NJFSC is the culmination of over 50 years of skating activities and planning plus literally thousands of volunteer hours united by a common love of figure skating.  Whether you are old or young, a skater,      parent or spectator, we hope that you will  enjoy the figure skating showcased by many of the wonderful athletes in our club.  Our thanks go out to the volunteers, officials and partner ice rinks whose volunteer service and expertise is the foundation upon which the NJFSC is built!

  Freestyle Guidelines
  1. All skaters must check in and pay before skating. Skaters not checked in will be asked to leave the ice.
  2. All skaters must clear the ice when the resurfacer enters the ice.
  3. Program and lesson skaters have the right of way. Please be aware of the skaters around you. No talking in the middle of the rink. Move to the boards when you are not actively working.
  4. No food or drink on the ice surface.
  5. In order to keep the ice clear, coaches should try to stay on the perimeter.
  6. Skaters should exhibit a cooperative attitude to each other and avoid confrontation. Lower level skaters should be aware of faster skaters and more advanced skaters should act as role models for lower level skaters.
  7. Any conflicts should be addressed to the Skating Director or rink management and any action will be taken at the discretion of the management.

Please check our website regularly for updates to the schedule.
